Multiplication...

Assume for the next few minutes that the population of the world is almost 5 billion (it is) and that you are the only Christian on earth (you aren’t). If you led one other person to the Lord during the next 12 months, and the two of you led two other people to the Lord the following year, etc., how many years would it take (statistically, at least) before everyone in the world would be a Christian?

The startling fact of multiplication is this: If everyone approached the Great Commission with the attitude, “Each one win one,” the task might well be completed in about 32 years!

Jesus sent out His disciples 2-by-2 but the job of spreading the gospel occurred 1-by-1: one individual with Christ sharing the good news with one individual without Christ. Does that help you see how important one witness – your witness – can be in accomplishing the goal? Write down the names of 3 unsaved friends in your GoFish card (if you haven’t already!), and make them the focus of your praying… and sharing! That’s how the Good News gets around!

“Evangelism is the perpetual task of the whole church and not the peculiar hobby of certain of its members.”

HERE I GO AGAIN by Casting Crowns

Father, hear my prayer
I need the perfect words
Words that he will hear
And know they're straight from You
I don't know what to say
I only know it hurts
To see my only friend slowly fade away..

So maybe this time I'll speak the words of life
With Your fire in my eyes
But that old familiar fear is tearing at my words
What am I so afraid of?

Chorus:
'Cause here I go again
Talkin 'bout the rain
And mulling over things that won't live past today
And as I dance around the truth
Time is not his friend
This might be my last chance to tell him
That You love Him
But here I go again, here I go again

Lord, You love him so, You gave Your only Son
If he will just believe; he will never die
But how then will he know what he has never heard
Lord he has never seen mirrored in my life

This might be my last chance to tell him
That You love him
This might be my last chance to tell him
That You love him
You love him, You love him

What Am I so afraid
What am I so afraid
What am I so afraid of?
How then will he know
What he has never heard

Prayer Walk!

i know, i know.. this is supposed to be E-blog, but don't you think that even E has to start with prayer too? yup yup.. this long forgotten secret weapon that we have is so frequently under-used!!

must say the P-comm did a good job preparing for the prayer walk we just had on thursday (10Nov2005), unfortunately not many ppl were there to enjoy it! but we believe that God has heard our prayers...even as the 8 of us walked in 4 different routes around the faculty to claim our land for Christ..hear our prayer, O God, come heal our land....

Oh Lord let us be a generation that seeks... that seeks Your Name O God of Jacob.....

Spiritual conversations w/o d awkardness

from Student2Student Update #5:

Spiritual conversations...without the awkwardness

Okay, let’s get honest. We want to have significant conversations about God and life and occasionally they happen, but not as often as we’d like. Now it may be that others aren’t interested in talking. But that is rarer than you think. According to national research, the chances are that four out of five of your classmates are open to talk about spiritual things.
So what keeps it from happening? It might be we are too busy or too afraid. Or maybe we just don’t know how to bring it up—how to break through the awkward “sound barrier” between ordinary interactions (school, sports, etc.) and spiritual conversations.

Here is a key word to help you breakthrough—“SOMETIME”. In a simple statement, it can test for spiritual openness. Here’s how. Simply say, “Sometime I’d love to hear what you think about spiritual things.” You have stated a simple and honest desire (you would like to know, wouldn’t you?), but “sometime” takes the pressure off the moment. You are not saying you want to talk now, just sometime. That gives them freedom to express (verbally or non-verbally) how open they are to talking. And experience shows, most students are very willing in a comfortable setting.

So let’s do a faith-experiment:
Pray that God will give many significant spiritual conversations in the weeks ahead.
Then step out in faith and let others know your desire—“SOMETIME”—especially those who are on your GO Fish! Card.
Pay attention to those who respond positively and begin to set up times for coffee and conversation (or coke, if you prefer.)
Oh, when you get together, what will you talk about?
